Saint Vincent College Art Gallery Features the Sacred

(10/17/08)  Hosting Catholic art competition for works "appropriate for liturgical use"

Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Penn., is home to the Saint Vincent Gallery, which hosts the permanent College art collection as well as the collection of the Saint Vincent Archabbey. Temporary exhibitions of traveling shows, local artists, and works by students and faculty are also displayed. Among the extensive selection of works at the Gallery are several sacred and classical pieces, famous artists such as Rembrandt and Renoir, and donated works from King Ludwig I of Bavaria. This semester the College is hosting a “Catholic Arts Exhibition and Competition,” encouraging artists to submit works which are "iconographically recognizable and appropriate for liturgical use."
