(12/31/08) "The primary mission of Dignity is to respectfully dissent . . ."
Dignity USA of Austin, Texas, a group of “Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Catholics,” encourages members to attend Mass at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at St. Edward’s University. Dignity claims that it is morally permissible for Catholics with a homosexual orientation to live out a sexually active lifestyle. “We believe that we can express our sexuality in a loving, life-affirming manner that is in keeping with Christ's teaching.” The Dignity website goes on to say that “The primary mission of Dignity is to respectfully dissent from the position of the Roman Catholic Church that homosexuals must be celibate to be followers of Christ.” Source: Dignity Austin
