Catholic Colleges & Pro-Abortion Politics - 2008
The links below identify political activities on Catholic college campuses and among Catholic college employees in 2008, as of November 6. Each involves candidates, speakers or honorees who support legalized abortion and/or federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. The final section identifies Catholic college honors to public leaders, most of them politicians. There are many more examples in prior years.

The U.S. bishops’ 2004 statement “Catholics in Political Life” mandated:
The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.”
