There is a big job open at Wyoming Catholic College: president.
The Board of Directors of Wyoming Catholic College
is announcing a national search for the next president of the small, outdoorsy college known for its classical curriculum and campus life steeped in orthodox Catholicism.
Father Robert W. Cook, the current president and a cofounder of the college, which opened its doors in 2007, plans to retire as soon as a suitable successor is found. “Fr. Cook’s successor will have an outstanding foundation of leadership to build upon,” Board Chairman David Kellogg, who is chairing the President Search Advisory Committee, said in a press release.
Kellogg said in the release that “the next president will have an incredible opportunity to lead the nation’s newest Catholic college into its next chapter.” The press release set described the requirements for the job:
The Board has provided a thorough “position profile” that outlines the opportunity and the qualities of the successful candidate. Key among those requirements are being a faithful Catholic, a proven track record of successful fundraising ability, and a complete understanding of the Philosophical Vision Statement – the founding document of Wyoming Catholic College. Although the founding President is a priest, the Board is encouraging both religious and lay persons to apply.
Father Cook is quoting saying that he is confident that an outstanding candidate for the top job will be found. “WCC is truly an extraordinary place, filled with exceptional students and staff. I know God will continue to bless the mission of this school,” Father Cook said.
Kellogg said that the college is launching a capital campaign to build a permanent campus and that the next president will be a big part of that campaign.
