Dr. Ralph McInerny Comments on Project Sycamore, Notre Dame

Project Sycamore, an independent association of University of Notre Dame alumni, has been a “model of calm and reasonable yet unrelenting friendly questioning of recent events on the South Bend campus,” according to one of the university’s most accomplished faculty members, Philosophy Professor Ralph McInerny. Sycamore has been especially critical of “the incredible waffling of Father Jenkins” about campus performances of The Vagina Monologues.  McInerny argues that Project Sycamore is wielding a positive influence by constantly drawing attention to Catholic identity issues at Notre Dame.  “What can one do with a group that does not accuse you of malice but rather exhibits the naivete and ineffectiveness of your actions?” Source: The Catholic Thing
