Christendom College is announcing the launch of its new EWTN Catholic radio station WXDM 90.3 FM. The station officially started uninterrupted broadcasting on Friday, November 30, according to a press release.
WXDM, the first Catholic radio station to broadcast from Virginia, is broadcasting the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network, which provides an around-the-clock feed of authentic Catholic radio coverage. Reportedly, the 190W-powered signal covers the entire Front Royal area and is currently reaching as far north as Winchester, Va., and as far south as Bentonville, Va.
The faithful Catholic College plans to incorporate some of its own programming over the coming years.
“We are very excited about this,” College President Dr. Timothy O’Donnell said. “It couldn’t be more fitting to launch this station during what Pope Benedict XVI has declared as the ‘Year of Faith.’ Our hope and prayer is that the programming on this station will change hearts and lives in our local community. It certainly will be a great complement to the college’s mission, ‘to restore all things in Christ.’”
The College will celebrate the launch of the station with Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde on January 18. The bishop will celebrate Mass and bless the station’s tower, which is located behind Crusader Gymnasium.
