Christendom College professors are offering lectures in Northern Virginia as part of the Institute of Catholic Culture's spring lecture series.
Theology professor Dr. William Marshner offered a talk on Thursday, Feb. 7 on "Saint Augustine: Free Will & the Grace of God." History professor Dr. Brendan McGuire is offering two presentations on "Sts. Cyril & Methodius: The Christening of Eastern Europe."
Dr. McGuire’s lecture series will be held on Thursday, February 14 and Thursday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael Church Hall located at 7401 Saint Michael Lane, Annandale, VA 22003.
McGuire is a Catholic historian, specializing in the classical and medieval periods. He received his doctoral degree in medieval history from Saint Louis University, and in recent years has presented scholarly research on various historical topics at prestigious regional, national, and international conferences. He has taught both history and classical languages at the undergraduate level, and he is currently a professor of history at Christendom College, his alma mater.
