According to the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas' newspaper, The Leaven, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is experiencing a rebirth at Benedictine College.
The story relates how increases in students availing themselves of the Sacrament resulted after an increase in Mass participation and the institution of perpetual Eucharistic adoration.
According to Father Brendan Rolling, who serves as director for mission and ministry at Benedictine College, three years ago the school utilized a single confessional before Sunday Mass. This year, the school has been utilizing four confessionals.
“I believe our students understand that they can’t answer the church’s call for a worldwide new evangelization before answering Christ’s call for a personal conversion,” said Fr. Rolling. “The hearts of Benedictine College students are leading them to the confessional.”
The article also features interviews with students talking about the importance of the Sacrament.
