Sunday’s CBS Evening News featured students from Thomas Aquinas College reacting to the election of Pope Francis. In addition to the interviews with correspondent Carter Evans, the footage also includes shots of the campus’ Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel.
The segment addresses the student’s confidence that the Pope will confront the priest sexual abuse scandal, their impressions of the Pope’s humility, and their excitement that he was from Latin America. Evans interviewed juniors Andrea Flores and Martin Zepeda.
Thomas Aquinas College's website features a slideshow of the CBS interview.
