On Friday, March 15, Anne Prisco was officially inaugurated as the first lay president of Felician College. Prisco's appointment breaks a 70-year tradition of Franciscan nuns running the Lodi, NJ college.
Prisco has been serving as president since last summer, but on Friday, she was given a medallion, a mace, and the college Bible during her inauguration.
Prisco previously served as vice president of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, a master’s of business administration from Fordham University and a doctorate in economics and education from Columbia University. Her husband, Stephen Sergi, has taken a position as a business management professor at the college.
Among her plans for the college are renovating the school's science labs and building an Education Commons at the school's Rutherford campus. She said she also wants to diversify the student body.
