Polish Cardinal Zenon Grocholewski, prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education told Zenit that Pope Francis will be a "magnificent Pope."
Cardinal Grocholewski spoke with Zenit following Pope Francis' inaugural Mass. Asked why he thought it will be a "great pontificate," Cardinal Grocholewski responded:
Because of his simplicity and way of speaking, profound and plain, I think that today it is necessary for the Church to have this simplicity, and not speak "over people's heads," but to hearts, and this Pope knows how to speak to men's hearts.
Asked what Pope Francis will stress, he said, "Christ is the strength of the Church and Pope Francis has stressed this many times," added Cardinal Grocholewski. "And I'm so pleased that he believes in the power of prayer, and he asks everyone to pray. I think it will be a great pontificate."
