For the second year in a row, Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, has been included in the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
All told, more than 3,228 participants from the Mount finished 22,920 hours of community service with 183 different "service and justice experiences," according to the University.
“We are grateful for the recognition and thankful for the Mount students, faculty and staff who volunteer their time, resources and hearts for our service efforts,” said President Thomas H. Powell. "Our students excel when using their gifts and talents, along with what they learn in the classroom, in service to others.”
“The Mount continues to expand service and justice offerings for our students and for our local community; these events place our students in the community and are crucial for a student’s holistic educational experience,” said Director of the Office of Social Justice, Jeff Abel.
Mount St. Mary's University is recommended by The Cardinal Newman Society at TheNewmanGuide.com for its strong Catholic identity.
