Stonehill College of Easton, Mass. announced on Friday that it has named Fr. John Denning as its tenth President. Prior to the announcement, Fr. Denning had served as vice president for student affairs at the College. Fr. Denning began at Stonehill in 2000 as director of campus ministry. He served as the College's first vice president for mission, focusing on initiatives to enhance the Catholic identity of the College.
Denning will assume the presidency July 1. He replaces Fr. Mark Cregan, who served as president for 13 years.
“I am honored and humbled at the opportunity to lead Stonehill. I believe in the wonderful story of this College. Its mission provides each student with a learning experience that transcends the classroom for the good of the broader community and fosters a hunger to build a more just and compassionate world,” Denning said in a press statement.
