Fr. Joseph Levesque, the former president of Niagara University, will serve as interim president at Saint John’s University in New York, according to Buffalo News.
He will begin the job on August 1st.
Levesque, a Vincentian priest, is not unfamiliar with Saint John’s as he has previously held positions on the board there. After a permanent replacement has been found he will reportedly return to Niagara as president emeritus.
Last semester, reports of financial scandal and corruption including embezzlement and lavish gifts rocked the university. The Cardinal Newman Society reported on that here.
