The College of Saint Mary Magdalen honored its patron saint on her feast day, July 22. Students, faculty, staff and board members gathered for a special Mass in honor of St. Mary Magdalen and a celebratory lunch.
In 2010, the board of trustees changed the name of the institution from Magdalen College to more clearly honor its patroness, Saint Mary Magdalen. It is one of the faithful Catholic colleges recommended by The Cardinal Newman Society.
Saint Mary Magdalen is known in Scripture and Church tradition to have stayed by Christ’s side through His crucifixion and to be the first witness of the Resurrected Christ.
