The Princeton Review published its list of gay-friendly and gay-unfriendly schools. While no Catholic colleges were named to the gay-friendly list, three were named to the list of LGBT-unfriendly colleges.
The University of Notre Dame, The University of Dallas, and The Catholic University of America were all named to the list of LGBT-unfriendly, according to The Dallas Voice. Many other Christian colleges were also named on the list, making it evident that anything less than promotion of the LGBT lifestyle is seen as “unfriendly.”
The rankings were based on surveys of 126,000 college students.
This must come as a surprise to Notre Dame as just last year the administration approved of a gay student organization for the first time.
Last year, The Catholic University of America denied official recognition to a gay student organization on campus, reportedly citing a concern that it could become an “advocacy group.”
The Catholic University of America and The University of Dallas are both recommended in The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College.
