John Paul the Great Catholic University’s founding president Dr. Derry Connolly reflected recently on the first decade of the University, describing it as a “walk in faith and trust in God.”
The first steps for creating the University were taken in 2003, and it officially opened in 2006. The fifth undergraduate class graduates this year.
JP Catholic prepares students for careers by focusing in its curriculum on business, filmmaking and other “new media,” with a firm grounding in the liberal arts and faithful Catholic theology.
Dr. Connolly said in a press release:
Inventing the future of Catholic higher education and building a radically new Catholic University is the awesome responsibility that relentlessly drives and abundantly motivates our many faculty, staff, priests, regents, and trustees who have sacrificed so much yet gained so much on this journey.
The University boasts a brand new campus in the historic downtown of Escondido, CA this semester.
John Paul the Great Catholic University is recommended by the Newman Society in The Newman Guide for its strong Catholic identity.
