Pope Francis recently consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and now Franciscan University of Steubenville is hosting a member of the Vatican Secretariat of State to speak about Mary, according to the University.
Monsignor Florian Kolfhaus will speak on “Mary’s Role in the Redemption and the Contemporary Church” this Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013. The lecture is free and open to the public.
This Holy See official is a member of the Pontifical Marian Academy, whose mission was guided by Pope John XXIII to “promote and animate studies of Mariology.” Kolfhaus is also an expert on St. Louis de Montfort’s texts and wrote a book about consecration to Our Lady.
This lecture is especially appropriate on the campus of Franciscan University, which has long promoted Marian devotion and even boasts a Marian grotto shrine.
Franciscan University of Steubenville is recommended in The Newman Guide for its strong Catholic identity.
