John Paul the Great Catholic University is hosting an essay contest open to all high school students that runs until January 1, 2014, according to the University.
The essays should respond to the questions: “What story have you experienced (novel, short story, play, or film) that was particularly effective in drawing its audience closer to truth, beauty, and goodness? What was it in the story and the craft of the artist that made it compelling?”
The essays should be double-spaced and two to five pages in length, and can be submitted here.
The contest guidelines state that university, “believes in the power of a story to impact us in profound ways.” Indeed, the college puts this theory into practice through its majors in business, filmmaking, and other “new media” while providing them with an authentically Catholic education.
The Impact Culture for Christ blog shares examples how John Paul the Great’s alumni, faculty, and students are embracing modern communication and using it to benefit of society and advance our culture.
John Paul the Great Catholic University is recommended in The Newman Guide for its strong Catholic identity.
