The President of The Sycamore Trust, an organization committed to promoting the Catholic identity of the University of Notre Dame, said he would like to see other similar organizations rising up all across the country to protect and promote faithfulness at individual Catholic colleges and universities.
Bill Dempsey, President of the Sycamore Trust, in a video released on their website, said that he’s been pleased to see the creation of similar organizations such as the 1887 Trust at Gonzaga as well as Renew LMU.
“There ought to be a Sycamore Trust organization for every Catholic college and university in the country,” he said. “We should be a template for similar efforts at all other, or as many as possible, other Catholic institutions.”
He credits The Sycamore Trust with having had some influence on the campus of Notre Dame, especially in the area of maintaining a percentage of Catholic faculty on campus.
