Mount St. Mary’s University Develops High School Student-Athletes this Summer

Student-athletes are invited to work hard, develop their athletic abilities, and experience college life at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., this summer, according to the University’s website.

Athletic camps for men’s and women’s soccer and basketball, and men’s lacrosse and baseball are planned.  Many of the camps are run by the Mount’s Division I coaching staff and current Mount student-athletes.  Part of the basketball camp’s description reads:

If you are a high school student-athlete interested in playing college basketball, this is the camp for you!   Camp participants will participate and train in typical college practices coached by the Mount St. Mary's coaching staff. Advanced individual skill instruction will be the primary focus with an emphasis on positional work.  All camp sessions will take place in either Knott Arena, ARCC Athletic Complex or Memorial Gym -- all places where Mount St. Mary's Basketball team plays and practices!

Head men’s basketball coach Jamion Christian led the team to a Northeast Conference Championship this year, with an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Mount St. Mary’s University is recommended in The Newman Guide for its strong Catholic identity.
