Ave Maria University in Florida boasts a record number of students who are engaged to be married in its graduating class of 2014, according the News Press.
The article entitled, “Ave Maria University students find love, education,” states that 22 of the 194 students who graduated from the University this past Saturday are engaged. There are reportedly another 26 alumni who are engaged.
Among the University’s alumni, one in five married a classmate. The News Press reports:
[University President Jim Towey] suggested it might be the likelihood of finding a fellow Ave Maria student who shares values of marriage and family. "Marriage is a noble vocation, a worthy pursuit, a method of sanctification," he said.
Valedictorian Lilla Lukacs noted: "I can't think of a better testament to how close we've grown in the last four years."
[Lukacs] advised graduates to invest in their relationships with God and each other because the feeling of accomplishment is fleeting but feeling love and loving others is forever.
