Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina is hosting a reception featuring Catholic Olympian, wife, and homeschooling mother of four, Rebecca Dussault, according to the College’s website.
In February of this year, The Cardinal Newman Society released an exclusive interview with Dussault, in which she shared how she struck the right balance that enabled her to live out her faith both in the world as an Olympian and with her family as a homeschooling mother.
Dussault is slated to speak on Belmont Abbey’s campus on June 19. The College reports:
2006 Olympic Cross Country Skier and 2010 Winter Triathlon World Champion, Rebecca Dussault (Do-so), will give us insight into being Faithfully Fit for the Kingdom. Having been an elite athlete most of her life, she knows well the rigors of becoming successful at something you’re passionate about without compromising.
For her that is Faith, Family, and Fitness. Through her unique story as a devoted daughter of the Church and world-class athlete, you’ll see how she ties it all together for His greater glory. She is a home schooling mother trying to make saints out of four young children, and she partners with her husband to run four small businesses. But, she still gets herself out the door to maintain her spiritual and physical health!
Her biography entitled Mass Start: Toeing the Line for Faith, Family, and Fitness is hot off the press and will be sold after her presentation. You may also visit www.MassStart.org, to learn more about her ministries.
Belmont Abbey College is recommended in The Newman Guide for its strong Catholic identity.
