Jane Robbins, a senior fellow at the American Principles Project, narrates a series of five videos created by Stop Common Core, American Principles Project and the Concerned Women of America in Georgia.  These assist viewers in understanding the different aspects of the Common Core State Standards initiative.  

 


 

The Evidence behind Common Core is Really Weak. Jason Richwine of the National Review Online draws attention to two researched papers in the Center for Education Policy’s compendium on Common Core examining the relationship between test scores and the strength of the state’s standards. Each study showed little to no positive correlation.

Common Core Validation Committee Member: ‘Nobody thought there was sufficient evidence’ for the Standards. Common Core developers acknowledge that little research-based data exists for standards development except to review standards from high-performing nations and to use professional judgment.

PDK/Gallup Poll on Common Core. Sixty percent of Americans oppose the Common Core State Standards and 56% say local school boards should have the greatest influence on what public schools teach. Read more here.
