Christendom's Popular Summer Institute Kicks-Off 30th Anniversary Activities

Year-Long Celebration to Include Francis Cardinal Arinze, Archbishop Raymond Burke and Father Benedict Groeschel

A year-long celebration of Christendom College's 30th anniversary will be launched with its Summer Institute, July 21.  Father Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R., and former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum will be among the speakers.

Major activities will take place on September 14-15, when Archbishop Raymond Burke of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will celebrate a special Mass.  A convocation will follow that honors Catholic higher education leaders Dr. Warren Carroll, founding  president of Christendom; Father Michael Scanlon, long-time president of Franciscan University of Steubenville; and Dr. Ronald MacArthur, founding president of Thomas Aquinas College.

Among other events will be a gala at Tysons Corner, Va., April 19, 2008. Honorary Co-chairmen of this event are Francis Cardinal Arinze, Prefect of the Congregration for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, and Dr. Joaquin Navarro-Valls, former director, Holy See Press Office.
