Franciscan University of Steubenville has announced that its chancellor, Father Michael Scanlan, TOR, will be the 2009 recipient of the Pro Fidelitate et Virtute Award from the Institute on Religious Life “in celebration of his love for the Church and his commitment to religious life.” The award will be presented on April 18 at the University of St. Mary of the Lake. Following the dinner, Father Scanlan will give an address entitled "Walking in the Spirit: Discovering God’s Purpose and Plan." According to a Franciscan University press release, the purpose of the award is to honor those “who manifest a strong love for the Church and a zealous commitment to the consecrated life.” Source: Franciscan University of Steubenville
