(8/6/09) Missionaries are currently serving on 4 Catholic campuses in The Newman Guide.
The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) has announced that the organization will have lay missionaries on 45 college campuses for the 2009-2010 academic year. Twelve new universities will host a group of these Catholic young adults who evangelize on campus. From the FOCUS website, “FOCUS.. is a national collegiate outreach that meets college students where they are and invites them to examine the meaning and purpose of their lives. Through large group outreach, Bible studies and one on one mentoring, FOCUS missionaries are equipped to introduce college students to the Person of Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith, empowering them to share His love with the world.” FOCUS missionaries are currently on six Catholic college campuses, including four recommended in The Newman Guide: Benedictine College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Belmont Abbey College, and the University of St. Thomas (Houston). The two other Catholic campuses are Seton Hall University and Loras College. Learn more about FOCUS here. Source: PR Newswire
