Next Monday, October 12, Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., plans to show a movie that warps traditional interpretations of passages in the Bible that prohibit homosexual behavior. The film, “Seven Passages – The Stories of Gay Christians”, is only one of the events taking place during the celebration of “Love is everywhere… AQ Celebrates Human Rights”. In “Seven Passages”, seven actors portray stories of 127 different West Michigan homosexuals. LifeSiteNews.com reports that the film “features characters who advance revisionist interpretations of the scriptural passages that have traditionally been seen as evidence that sodomy is a sin.” According to an article about the play version of “Seven Passages” written for aqsaint.com, “The true meaning of those seven Bible verses, Leviticus 20:13, Jude 1:7 and Romans 1 among them, is called into question. Christians frequently interpret them to show that homosexuality is an abomination, and the play questions the accuracy of this understanding.” The article also stated that “Seven Passages” included “a stiff kiss between two lesbian lovers on stage.” The “Love is everywhere” events at Aquinas College are sponsored by Campus Life, The Alliance, Diversity Initiatives and Student Senate Diversity.
